These ‘Twilight’ things must be pretty commonplace in Ergastulum if Nicolas was shocked he didn’t know of them. The lithe man’s eyes practically lit up as the other spoke.
“…GOVernment interference. wE’re sturdier than you humANS. Monsters.”
Sturdier-than-average humanoids likened to monsters, caused by the government? That sounded awfully familiar. Maybe being deaf wouldn’t be a problem, after all. And if they were as common in that city as this guy’s reaction led him to believe…
“Huh…Ya don’t say? I believe ya, I guess…But I wouldn’t mind seein’ some proof.”
He simply smiled.
“If that ain’t an issue, of course~”
→ ‘Proof—?’ To match the redhead, dark eyes lit up excitedly at the proposition. While Nicolas appeared to be an advocate preacher of the Three Principles, he had no problem threatening Normals, even going as far as offering to ‘take care of them’. Without a moment to spare, silver swept the air in a blur— its form finally taking true shape when it came to rest on its owner’s shoulder as a brandished blade.
→ Putting Reno on the other end of his world, he mouthed in deliberate, melodramatic movements to get his message across; ‘What will it be?’
Despite his ever-growing grin, the redhead watched him cautiously, taking care to stay alert in case he decided to just lash out. It was already clear to him that the sword wasn’t just for show. This guy definitely knew how to use it.
It had been quite some time since he’d fought any sword-wieders, let alone one brandishing a katana, but that didn’t stop him from uttering his next question.
“You wanna play tag?”
